Glendeer is an award winning 6 acre open farm independently owned and run by the O’ Connell Family, just a ten minute drive from Athlone Springs.

Opened in April 1991, the Farm has over 50 species of animals and birds. Its facilities include a coffee shop, a children’s playground, an indoor and outdoor picnic area as well as a Nature walk.

Glendeer Pet Farm opens every year for the Summer season from Easter Week through to the end of September. It also open for December when it is transformed into an "Ireland-Lapland" with Santa and his reindeers, a crib, live cow and donkey, a snow scene and much more.
