Whether it’s practicing or perfecting your golf game, Athlone Golf Club is less than a ten minutes drive from the Athlone Springs Hotel & Leisure Club. The putting green and chipping greens are near to the Clubhouse while there is short game practice area adjacent to the 5th tee. Long game practice is nearby at the Athlone Golf Academy.

Athlone Golf Course: – A superbly scenic all season Golf Course is situated, in the magical setting of the shores of Lough Rea in the heart of Irelands Lakelands. The course was designed by Mr. J. McAllister and was officially opened on June 19th 1938.

Athlone Golf Club has been growing in popularity since their course upgrade was completed in 2006. The Lough Rea course in particular provides visitors with a real treat, it offers a unique opportunity to play on what is regarded as one of the most picturesque golf courses in Ireland. Our course is remarkably wet weather tolerant, due to the underlying Esker, which makes it a delight to play all year round.

Visitors are welcome 7 days a week, however, bookings are recommended.

Athlone Golf Club have ‘Open Wednesday’ competitions each week. They host open competitions during all bank holiday weekends throughout the year.
